[Question] Missions in liberated region

Post by nightwyrm »

What happens when you liberate a region while a "Destroy datatap to prevent Retaliation" mission is visible? Does the Retaliation still go thru if you don't do the datatap? Or is everything just cancelled?

I had a similar situation recently, I liberated the region and the advent retaliation disappeared.

I have not verified this, but my best guess is that you would be forced to do the mission after the HQ assault completes (or let the data tap go through and lose some rebels), much as you are forced to do (or abort) all the other missions active in a liberated region. Since presumably many of your heavy hitters would be freed up from the HQ assault, it should be pretty easy to beat, at least insofar as data taps are ever easy. :p

I did test this on the theory that since there is no more advent in the area, there would be no retaliation. The mission went away. So do the HQ to clear it.
