Full Override in 1.4 - which missions let you keep MEC

Post by Icarus »

With my upcoming first full override specialist, in which kinds of missions can I take a fully overridden mech home?

And on a related note: do Mechs still revert to Advent after a number of turns if they have been hacked by a specialist with full override?

Every mission, it seems.
They are yours till the end of the mission (not sure what happens if the hacker dies).

Full Override is a separate action from normal Hacking. Your normal Hacking will perform as it always did.

You can take a mech home on any mission. The catch here, which should probably be mentioned in the skill description, is that you don't actually take the mech home... you get a generic Longbow-ish mech stationed in your territory. Imagine my disappointment when 20 minutes of save-scumming netted a Sectopod, only to find him transformed into a regular dude.

LOL. It would be awesome to have a sectopod haven guardian. That would rule.

Also note that on evac missions you need to actually evac the MEC to keep it so don't leave it behind to cover your retreat if you want to bring it to the haven.

Oh, so they actually improved it :D . In 1.2 if you used full override on a sectopod you wouldn't get any MEC in the haven after the mission.

That being said, those MECs are a huge help in Rendezvous missions once they become harder with greater faceless and other Dark Events and they also prove very useful during retaliations (full or raids) so i think it's a really good perk on high hack specialist (anyone who got an enemy protocol reward will get that perk in my campaign)
