It's been months and months of war, and I still have that alien crossbow in my inventory gathering dust. I've decided to find a soldier that will use it, but which class?
Ranger, Assault, Specialist?
Many skills like multiple overwatch attacks or rapid fire won't be useful with it due to its 1-shot-mag.

Probably a high aim Assault that ended with low mobility, going down the middle skill tree, with Extra Conditioning, your double action skill of choice (Hit and Run or Close Encounters) and Untouchable. And most definitively picking Pistol skills. You'd get a very useful soldier that could be disabling an enemy each turn, can lower hack defense and gets to shred. STILL, I dunno if I'd pick that over a shotgun-wielding-get-within-4-and-obliterate assault, considering the same assault can also clutch stun.
A Hacker Specialist can pick it too I guess. Normally I give them an SMG because I rarely have them shooting (I normally make them officers, and mine tend to have crappy aim, high aim specialists picking overwatch spec). Not that they'd make anything special with it, if anything it'd be a last resort thing.
