Simultaneous HQ Assault and Retaliation interaction

I have a region in which I am infiltrating an HQ Assault for Liberation 5, and it also just became targeted by a retaliation. If I successfully liberate the region while it is being retaliated on, is there any interaction? Does the retaliation disappear, does it continue as normal, or does something else occur?

There used to be a bug that would assume you lost the Retaliation after you liberated the region, so you'd end up with an empty liberated haven. Dunno if it was fixed.
I was on the same boat on my last campaign, decided not to risk it.

I just did it before I saw this, and it looks like everything is good. The retaliation was removed, and all of my resistance workers are still alive.
