2 UFO mission in region?

Just got 2 UFO landed in West Africa a few day a part. It is possible? I thought there is a cold down for this mission type?

Luckilyboth my A team were available. Just need to delay the HQ assault ;)

There are 3 different Offworld Reinforcements activities: Scheduled, Emergency and Super Emergency. Each of the three has its own cooldown and they are independent.

As faket15 said.

If you see that AVATAR project is delayed a lot in the resistance management screen it means you're really hurting ADVENT a lot and they have diverted resources away from AVATAR project to reinforce their hold on the planet. Those resource translate into additional reinforcements.

Most probably you got the Emergency Offworld Reinforcements which is just the regular activity that adds 2 points of Strength from the beginning of the game and the Super Emergency which is the "real" emergency activity that occurs only if you managed to rise global vigilance much higher than global strenght (i think you need 20 points of vigilance over str - but you can't see the exact value of vigilance without an additional mod - nor do you need to).

The Scheduled Offworld Reinforcements is the activity that adds a point of Force (which is actually the tech level) rather than Strength. If you managed to catch it it means you'll delay the arrival of late-game enemies such as Muton Elites, Gatekeepers ... (not sure where you are in the campaign) but that activity is almost impossible to detect.

Thank for the explaination. I was thinking this was a bug.

Current in early Nov with Sectopod just showed up. Avatar is at 6pips but I have access to 3 facilities, 2 HQs and blacksite. Waiting for shadow chamber to complete for the golden path.

Just completed 1 of the UFO mission.

Squad composition: 1 shinobi officer, 1 DFA sniper, 1 snapshot sniper, 2 rangers, 1 psi with warsuit, 1 specialist with exo, and 1 gunner. Full plasma tier weapons.

Start the battle with shinobi officer moving forward and found a 4 aliens pod. Muton elite, 2x muton and snek. No problem. Just setup overwatch wall and position snipers on abandon building that conviniently 1 blue move to the left of starting point. Pod move in and all die to the alpha strike of the squad.

So far so good. Move shinobi further up front. Sectopod! With shieldbearer, archer mec, gernadier and elite trooper. Reposition shinobi to ensure he will not be accidentally flank. End turn. Pod move forward and almost at edge of LoS to front line gunner. Reposition the troops and setup overwatch.

Overwatch triggered. Mec fall from gunner overwatch shot and pod scamper. Sectopod move in and everyone open fire. 1 dead Sectopod coming up...... or not. Only 1 shot from DFA sniper connected. 9 dmg after armor. Everyone else missed or grazed. Damn! That Sectopod sure can dance.

DFA sniper attempt to kubikiri. 66% crit chances, worth a try. Of coz he failed and did 4 dmg. The snapshot sniper redeem himself with a crit. With that the rest of the troops able to kill the sectopod and the 2 advents.

Move the shinobi forward again (see the trend?) And park him by the side of UFO entrance. No activities on alien turn. Move everyone to cover in front of the UFO entrance. Except for specialist and rangers no other had overwatch due to yellow move.

4 mecs walk out and revealed the shinobi. This triggered another pod of 4 mecs. Am I fighting alien or skynet?

Luckily 1 mec was gunned down by the overwatch shot, 7 to go. Psi soul merge with DFA sniper then fire his shredstrom. Dmg and shredded armor of 3 mecs. Kill 6 of the mecs and shutdown the last 1 since specialist does not has enough dmg to kill it and only 75% chances to take control. With my luck in this mission, decided to play it safe. Kill it in next turn.

Cannot wait to find out how many alloy and elerium I will be getting from this UFO. Profit time.

25 alloy and 25 elerium!? Are you kidding me?

I don't really remember how much raw material i got from UFOs but it's not all you get :
  • You get corpses which can be used to build items, sold at BM or "rendered" by Tygan (i really think it should be an engineering project but probably something you can do in addition to the PG stuff) to get more Elerium/Alloy.
  • UFO missions will always give you some Avenger power. Of course in the late game you no longer need it (it would be nice if excess power could be allocated to research/engineering to speed-up their progress)
  • That UFO would have brought 2 points of Strength so you actually hit ADVENT for the equivalent of 2 supply raids.

As well as experience for your soldiers, though I don't know if it's more than in other missions.

Yes. The sectopod corpse was nice. 1st gremlin MKIII. However I would think that an UFO should offer much more resouces. That thing should be made from alloy and ton of elerium as power source.

Cuurent in mid Nov, with almost all non golden path research done and waiting for shadow chamber to be complete. Elerium is the maajor gating resouces to build more stuffs. Been selling corpses and buying every elerium on black market and do as many smash and graps as the troops can manage.

I've done 4 UFO's in the current legend 1.4 campaign.
The reward is lower than HQ but higher than supply raid.
Beside corpses and elerium/alloys/supply you will have +1 to power. Not that it's super-duper important but still quite usefull.
It's much more profitable then either raid/column not only for reward but also because there is no such scarry comand pod you will get at the same moderate activity on raid/column.
And you will also have a chance to get a very nice hack beacon reward (like enemy protocol) which is impossible to get from lamp post in column and totaly impossible to get on raid/HQ as there are no lamp posts on both.

It's quite difficult to get UFO precursor mission though...
