Do Supply Raids destroy a point of Strength?

As the topic says, do supply raids destroy a point of strength? For instance, if there is a region with 6 strength sending a legion over to a region with 1 strength and I successfully intercept and complete the supply raid, will a point of strength be destroyed from the strength 6 region?

Basically yes. If you don't do the mission, you'd end up with a 2 strength and a 5. If you do it successfully, you'll have a 1 and a 5.

Sort of related question: why is ambush troop column listed as just a guerrila mission in the google docs missions table, with the description as "missions give rewards, but don't really hurt aliens", while ambush supply raid is listed as actively hindering advent, if both reduce strength?
