I just bought and installed WotC. Can I use LW2 over it or will it cause conflicts?

You can. Start game with mod enabled. Do not start WoTC and play non WoTC campaign

WotC is incompatible but WotC comes with both Vanilla and WotC as independant games, so just install LW2 on the vanilla folder and play it like that. Too bad we don't get the graphic and loading improvements :S

Can I use the LW2 Alien pack without using long war 2?

If you look inside the game directory they are actually two completely seperate games. WOTC has its own folder inside the main game folder. You could move that folder, delete the vanilla files, and the expansion will still run just fine. They did the same crap with the original xcom. Its a great way to needlessly waste about 30 gigs of space.

Anyway, just run the vanilla game.

But what about the LW Alien Pack? Does it work on WotC?

Only if they made a WOTC version.
