Kubikiri = Almost Repeater, right?

Post by Zyxpsilon »

And it's the only LW2 aspect that gets anywhere near to having the real XC2 "Executed!" gimmick.
While only Sharpshooters can use that perk.

If so.. Rulers are now becoming a high stakes gamble with sloooowww attrition attempts that gives many more opportunities to escape an encounter with us multiple times.

My "Ever-Vigilant" Specialists (with Elite Magazines) can only fire twice if the first shot hits. In XC2.. i've seen them deplete 7+ Ammos in a single turn. Now they are support hackers & triplet healers almost exclusively.

I could go on with the entire set of Classes.. all 4+4 of them. Having a choice from cute three perks per promo-levels.. no less!

BUT -- what was absolutely fun to watch is a truly Executed ArchonKing collapsing from the Air right before it tried to devastate everyone down below -- hovering by any of the first couple of shots by Overwatchers (close enough to the incoming death threats) -- that were simply yet reliably waiting for a Frozen bomb to lapse at the exact precise moment of suspensed emotions & finger biting fear.

Good bye -- well earned wide smiles of rare luck & my fair enough vengeance (( Thank you Jake.. Booo Johnny! )) against the RNG bullshit we all swear about.

It's a looooooonnnnggg sadness -- indeed.

I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what you're saying

In LW2 the sentinel ability fires 2 overwatch shots regardless of whether the first one hits, maybe you're talking about vanilla with the guardian trait?

Shinobis have coup de grace, which is closer than kubirkiri. Kubikiri doesn't even execute alien rulers, it does like 4 x crit damage or something which is lot, but not execute.

ooopppsss -- that was the Specialist "Guardian" perk i meant earlier.. my mistake.
And you're right too about "CoupDeGrace".. it actually is the nearest to Repeaters. Although there are some special limits to it; low odds based on Disoriented/Stunned/Unconscious status & variable chances from HP left -- again, Shinobi only.

Worth noting Sparks can get access to the Guardian perk at their Vanguard promo level.

Kubikiri is weird because you have to crit a wounded enemy and have the crit not kill them for it to do anything.

Really not a fan of random activation Rube Goldberg machines.

I respecced my sniper and got rid of kubikiri.

My experience was that most of the time the minimum damage was enough to finish off the target. The one time I used it on a big HP unit, it didn't crit.

It's just not a good skill.

It should be a 5 turn cool down and automatically crit anything that is damaged if you hit them.

It's there for andromedons o.O, blow up their cover then foooom kubikiri. Although there is a bug that kubikiri won't kill the target if it has armor.

Emphasis mine. This much renders that ability useless currently. It is useful when using lower-tier sniping rifles, as crit chance is not dependant of tech, but I used Kubikiri on damaged Andromedon and it survided. Idem on a heavy mec, idem on Archon. With DE giving armor, I'm to respec my snipers...

I mean, it's a bug, it's also going to get fixed.
But I do get you. Still like my dragonslayer build but I get you.
