Avenger Layout/Power Consumption

Post by Nicklopez2005@gmail.com »

I had a question that I was hoping that could be answered on here. I was looking to plan ahead on building out the avenger with facilities. Do the power coils still make all facilities free from power consumption? Also, which facilities consume the most power? I was searching the ufopeadia site and the forums and I couldn't find much information on this. I did find a little information that says the Shadow Chamber uses 8 power, so would it be recommended to build that on a power coil? I did see several posts about building a laboratory on power coils, are they better to place on power coils over resistance and power relays? Anyhow, thanks in advice for those able to help me on this.

The laboratory has a ton of upgrades for extra scientist work stations and consumes a lot of power as a result. I definitely recommend putting it over a power node.

Yes, a facility built in a power coil room consumes no power. A coil adds 7 power output if there's a Power Relay built on it. Don't know what happens with the Workshop, which in LW2 produces 1 power (as opposed to consuming 1 power in stock XCOM 2).

Dug through the LW2 v1.1 INI files for the values for its values for the facilities. The biggest power consumers in LW2 are the upgraded Shadow Chamber and the fully upgraded Laboratory. Next is the upgraded Resistance Comms, but at 7 power it would serve equally well to put a Power Relay on a 3rd power coil if there is one.

Code: Select all

Avenger Facilities for Long War 2

Facility Cost/Upgrades Time Power Staff Upkeep Notes

GTS $150/35/35 14d -3 - $10/15/20 2 Rk Trg Stations; upgrades are Officer Trg Stations
AWC $150/100 14d -3/5 S 1 $10/15
Laboratory $125/50/50/50 14d -3/5/7/9 S 1/2/3/4 $10/15/20/25
Workshop $80/35 14d 1 E 1/2 $10/15
Power Relay $100/50/80 12d 4/6/10 E 1/2/2 $10/15/20 each E Power +5, 2nd upgrade also cost 2xAA 20xEC 1xECore

Resistance Comm $125/125 14d -4/7 E 0/1/2 $10/15 Contacts +3/5/11
Proving Ground $150 14d -3 E 1 $10
Defense Matrix $45/35 14d -1/2 E 1 $10 2/4 Turrets
Psi Lab $150/75 14d -3/5 S 1 $10/15 build also cost 1xECore
Shadow Chamber $200/200 45d -8/14 - $50/55 build also cost 10xAA 20xEC 3xECore
And here's how I plan to build the Avenger. Order of the rooms for GTS, AWC, and then LAB firm, others to be tested.

Code: Select all

Avenger Facility Layout for Long War 2

Set location of clear room and power coils with mod Commander's OCD
+ Initial clear room
*       Power coils

        AWC PR +GTS
        RC WS PG
        *LAB DM PR
        *SC PSI PR

If an 3rd Power Coil shows up, best to put either RC or a PR on it to gain 7 Power
The mod Commander's OCD is great for positioning the empty space and the power coils. However, after installing it, start one game and then throw it away. Exit XCOM 2 and then find the profile config file XComCommandersOCD.ini and make sure it's set up the way you want it. Details of how are in the mod description.

Great info Jacke! I took the liberty of adding your table to the Ufopaedia LW2 facilities page.
