No loot drops?

Playing on PC, don't know what version of LW2 I have, how do you look it up?

No other mods installed.

For the first few missions I got a couple loot drops permission pretty reliably, but after that they just stopped. In my most recent mission, none of the aliens I killed dropped loot, but it said I'd found a scope and a stock after getting back to base. That's the only time that's happened so far. All other missions after the first few, aliens stopped dropping loot items entirely.

I'm also not getting any 'loot destroyed' messages when I use grenades, which makes sense if there isn't any loot to destroy...

Note: replaying the mission, I realized that the scope and stock I acquired were found with the mission objective in a hackable chest, not dropped by enemies.

Doesn't solve the problem tho: enemies still won't drop loot
