AI freeze after sectopod hacked

Post by Meme Turtle »

Fresh campaign start on version 1.1

During a supply raid mission I encountered a sectopod, which I tried to get control over using my specialist with Full Override. This took me a number of turns to succeed due to low hack skill. My squad was still in concealment and when I finally hacked the sectopod following things happened:
1) After the hack sectopod becomes concealed.
2) He loses concealment immediately due nearby troops.
3) Enemy troops activate, however instead of running for cover they are just standing still.
4) My troops are still concealed. I break concealment by opening fire, but enemies still do not move.
5) In fact every single pod in the map does not move after I activate it.
So, basically hacking that sectopod cause AI to freeze and stop reacting to my troops. I am not sure if it is caused by Full Override skill or breaking concealment with hacked sectopod.

Moreover, I have noticed a problem with Full Override skill itself. It is supposed to consume charge only upon successful attempt, however if I continue to try and hack sectopod from concealment after 2 failed attempts the charge is gone. This might be a known problem though.

I have a save game file available for the moment when sectopod was hacked:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzaLdT ... sp=sharing

After reloading the game and loading this save file AI finally activates properly and enemy troops will take cover and open fire next turn. However, you can still enemy pod in the distance, which can see sectopod and just stands in the open.

I have the exact same bug, but in different circumstances.

Version - Long War 2 1.1
Platform - Windows 10
No additional mods

Description:
On an HQ Assault mission I move my squad to the other edge of the map to get a better position. After a good 10 to 15 turns I start my turn by launching a Flashbang greande at 2 Berskers + 2 Vipers + Sentry + Drone pod. My troops go out of concealment save my Shinobi but the pods that I see do not react.

On the AI's turn it seems that it is doing something but the aliens do not do anything at all. A turn later the AI still takes good 10 to 15 seconds to finish its turn but nothing actually happens. I have even tried moving a soldier right in the open and ending my turn - no luck, the AI does nothing. Seems like an awfully passive AI for an HQ mission. :?

I can provide a save, have tucked it away. It is from the first turn after the activation.

I've just experienced the same problem in my campaign. Second supply raid mission since the problem began, enemy units apparently have no AI. They just gormlessly stand still and don't even scamper when my soldiers reveal and begin slaughtering them. This began seemingly completely at random during a previous mission that very clearly began with animated patrols.

On a hunch I backed up my MyDocuments/Games/XCOM2/Config files, then cleared out the folder. This actually resolved the issue for me. Not only did a new mission have ordinary AI behavior, but autosaves of the supply raid that was in-progress with derped out immobile pods were immediately fixed. Enemies began moving and fighting on their turns, as normal.
