Change number of utility slots?

I was wondering if there's an easy way to change the number of utility slots soldiers get. I tried changing the value in CharacterStats.ini but that had no affect (even on new soldiers/new campaign).

There's a mod called tons of utility items but that has a weird effect of giving one slot more on predator armour compared to kevlar which gets out of hand really quick.

I do have the SDK installed, so I can delve into that if I have to. I would just need to know what I'm looking for.

Changing the line
CharacterBaseStats[eStat_UtilityItems]=3

both in [Soldier X2CharacterTemplate] and just below that for your difficulty should work.

Keep in mind that the UI may not adjust in Squad loadout screen, so you might have to go into the soldier's specific loadout screen to access these slots.

As I said, already tried changing the characterstats.ini to no avail. Can't seem to access these slots from anywhere if they are indeed updating from these lines.

Hey had that same problem, turns out if you download this mod:

You can then edit it's xcomarmorstatcustomiser.ini to set predator or powered armour utility items to false.

Works for me hopefully you too. :D
