Changing visuals/sounds for Laser/Plasma weapons

Hi

I would like to check if there's an easy way to make the laser/plasma tier weapons look/sound like the Coil tier instead.
I really do not like the laser/plasma tier weapons visually.

Now, I found the "imagepaths" in the XcomGameData_WeaponData.ini file. An example would be:
"SniperRifle_Laser_ImagePath="UILibrary_LW_LaserPack.LaserSniper_Base"

Is it as simple as changing the above into:
"SniperRifle_Laser_ImagePath="UILibrary_LW_Overhaul.InventoryArt.CoilSniperRifle_Base"

Would that change make it so that the Laser sniper rifle looks like and sound like a Coil tier sniper rifle instead?

Given the lack of answers I'm gonna assume that it's not as easy as I had predicted :P

This would only change inventory image, to change actual model and sound you have to use SDK.

Yeah, I have no idea what that means, so I'll just stay away from it so that I don't break things.
