Resuming the dev diaries at long last.
In this entry, I’ll break from discussing design and instead highlight improvements we’ve been making to the overall look of the game since we went live with our pre-alpha trailer last year.
1) We’ve reworked all the councilor art and animated portraits. These portraits are now in the webm format, meaning we can use transparency and put them in front of dynamic backgrounds. We also reworked many of the faction symbols to make them a little less abstract.
Old: New:
2) We converted the game to HDR rendering and added nice borders to the regions on Earth.
Old: New:
3) We redid all the UI panels and buttons.
Old: New: There's quite a bit more, but these are among the highlights most easily shown in still images.
