You have to train them in order. Training an offesive perk doesn't have any effect on defensive perks.

It's also intentional that they are hidden as unlike the perk trees they are random and you never know what's waiting.

Burning is a very powerful debuff in LW2. Aside from the damage over time it disables all actions. The AI reacts to it by running back and forth, which i highly exploitable via overwatch. Everything uses engineers other than the AWC and Psi Lab. The game also seems to give out engineers like Halloween candy, so the workshop may just be one of those campaign insurance things.

Open with a rocket on the command pod, freeze the general with the frost bomb. Drop a couple of grenades on him, light him on fire, holo-target him, then hammer him with small arms. Worked for me. :)

There's no such thing as "avoiding" missions. They happen wether you know about them or not. You want intel on the enemy so you can at least see if it's something you should get involved with. You don't have to run a mission just because you detected it.

No scatter is listed. I've lost cover that my own guys were using a good 4-5 squares out of the blast area. I first discovered it when I tried to stun some troopers camping the evac zone on a building and it leveled the building. Firebrand moved over to my squad, too, so it was all good.

This is vanilla behavior removed in LW2 wherever we found it. Unfortunately, we missed a spot (blame us playtesters). That should be fixed in patch 1.1. ADVENT has scanners, drones, and turrets everywhere. Everything is military, there is no "civilian" law enforcement.

They don't need cops, they just air drop soldiers, and they don't have any civilian authority to answer to.

The game can't spawn the Lost Towers mission in an ongoing campaign, so if you add it mid way, or disable the mission when starting the campaign, you don't have to beat the mission to unlock the tech like you normally do.
