honestly, also why you, you know, focus fire on the viper first anyways. or just lob a flashbang. for the guys saying "literally nothing i can do" it's still your fault for having let a viper get close enough to tongue-yank in the first place.

Equipped 'em a bunch of times so far, and never see any armor get shredded by them. guys with the skill still do, though.

I think it's fair, after all, after using Playable aliens, using YOUR Vipers that way is smart, specially for offing Officers or Shieldbearers (or any other annoying specific kinds of ADVENT)

Gatekeeper seems to have a "high cover destruction" field

just ran into one on a wilderness map supply raid....and the thing somehow was causing high cover for something like a 5-to-8 quare radius around it to just shatter... which is slightly ridiculous.

yeah, but my point is usually by the time you have Advanced mag weapons, everything but the Mag Shorty is unlocked...and given the name.. it does still kinda seem it was supposed to be with Advanced mag weapons, like the Shard Gun is, since i'm thinking it's essentially a sawed-off Shard Gun.

Not really sure if this is a bug, but it does kinda seem odd the Mag Sawed-Off is in Advanced Coilguns, rather than Advanced Mag Weapons, given it's, you know, called a Mag Shorty and not a Coil Shorty. Either needs a name change to reflect this, or just to be moved to the proper research (after all...

Additionally, Intel will also get you the chance to ambush troop columns and supply raids, which will also decrease troop strength.

what you don't wanna do is recruit and supply, as that attracts more attention, and is mainly what they work to stop with said missions you spot.

in fairness, the maps being procedurally generated, and map pack mods makes missions not really all that "identical"

Apparently there's three variations. 1.1 fixed it though. prob i had was ridiculous spawn weight. i mean, i can get having 2-4 guys dropping in every turn, but i was getting 6. and a pod of mutons apparently already on the map showed up. loaded up the save pre-avenger with 1.1 on, same kinda mission...

ah, however, think there's still a bug. As the mission i'm talking about was still infilled enough for "extremely light" even with taking the Regional HQ... and I also just got a Retaliation mission with reinforcements EVERY TURN in a different region, and they're only at 4 str there. I'm ...

Just managed to take out the Regional HQ in West Africa, and had a workstation hack mission immediately following... ended up getting three reinforcement drops starting around turn 7, and coming in EVERY turn following.

pretty sure securing a region is supposed to do the direct opposite.

yep. only weapon upgrades for the other stuff were from Grimy's loot mod, and that's yet to have an update to be LW2 compatible as far as i know.

Berserkers aren't Cousins of Mutons, they're female mutons. (also out of irony with your miniature text ;) my Viper i'd had CPed has lost a human friend, which actually gave her common ground with the crew. even had Bradford noting "never thought I'd be comforting a 15+-foot long humanoid snake...

You're not using it right then. as a veteran of 3 LW1 campaigns, you learn pretty quickly that most MEC types can't stand up to punishment, so you learn to position them better, and to focus fire on what would be the greatest threat to the SPARK, i.e. guys with Shredder Weapons, that Ruler, Gatekeep...

well, that's mainly why i said volunteer to help Dreamer. guy's done an admirable job keeping the mod as stable as it's managed to be, despite being screwed around with by every patch like it has been. It's too good of a mod and an idea to go to waste like those other six or seven devs of it let it.
