A quick workaround for times like that is to use the ttc command from the console. With the unit selected, move your cursor to the tile you want then enter that command. It's short for Teleport to Cursor.

Not specifically, depends on whether the bug has to do with the soldier having 0 missions. If so then it would, but I haven't tested it out.

No, the bug doesn't have to do with mixed ranks, it has to do with "new" soldiers on their first mission. You can't avoid the bug, but your not really exploiting it if your taking a soldier on their first mission in a squad that you would normally take that soldier. That soldier will just ...

Right, essentially it would take 8 missions, but you would be guaranteed a level up every mission. What this also means is that there is going to be a slight power drop in the early game as right now this bug is giving rookie way too much XP especially if they are on a mission with someone who is CP...

Do the 1.2 changes only apply to new soldiers, or to existing soldiers who haven't yet revealed their upper level perks? It would apply to any Rookie, new or existing once they get their first Rank. Once the class is chosen the AWC Perks are picked.

That's interesting. In my example I did only have 3 rookies alone that had to abort because they got busted with their hand in the cookie jar. I'll have to try this with a ranked soldier, and see If I can get some logging details on it. If that is the case, that sounds like a bug that needs fixing. ...

It's a known issue that is being fixed in 1.3

I don't think its really that bad. You'd probably want to avoid doing a Jailbreak with like 3+ rebels in it because the odds of getting multiple faceless there is high enough that it would probably hurt the haven more than it would help. According to my own testing and looking at the logs for mission XP output, you do not get any XP for failing with no kills. I sent 3 rookies on a capture item mission. Had to abort because they got spotted. Managed to run away and evac out, looked at the logs and it said that Pre and Post mission XP...

From what I could find, #1 isnt a bug. That project does not seem to affect all PCS modules. Health and Mobility get +1 and Will, Dodge and Hacking get ~+25%.

Your right it doesn't have anything to do with it being the Snare mission, those are always hack missions and require 7+ regional strength. I see it as being completely counterproductive and I think it's why people undervalue upgrades like Vulture, then complain they have no elerium cores! Too funny. What I've been trying out is basically rushing the first region to Lib 3 while expanding to other regions to run missions to keep vigilance from spiking to hard.
