Dang, that makes things more complicated. I suppose it doesn't hurt to ask -- can you give some indication as to where to look for in the code?

I'm interested in this too - I believe the ranges can simply be copied from the XComGameData_WeaponData.ini There seem to be a range per weapon: ARs (medium), SMGs (medium-short), shotguns (short), snipers (long), and a custom one for LMGs.
