Some people have had trouble if Steam and the game are on separate hard drives but they have been able to fix it (not sure how) -- if you're sure LW's files are in the right place (among the base-game files), then I don't have any further ideas. It's certainly possible some AV software blocked patch...

There may be an issue with crossing saves from modded campaigns from Macs to PCs and back, but that's outside of our ability to troubleshoot, as it's in how the games handle mods, not the mods themselves, so I'd recommend you send in a support ticket to 2K. One player has said using Nexus' versions ...

I assume you're going through the Steam Workshop? I'm afraid that process is automated and we don't have to do anything for it to install as long as the mod is constructed correctly (which it is, given almost everyone has gotten it to work). There isn't an alien "pool" that works mechanically like the character pool does, but you can make your own aliens and have them fight in campaigns -- when our mod is distributed, it will show what's necessary to make that happen.

It's possible. I'm a little worried the UI may have too much going on to work on that kind of platform, but we're not ruling out mobile platforms at this point.

Hey Drak, great seeing you again. We can't say anything else until Pax South at the earliest, but I'd point you to and endorse this preview from Firaxicon a few months back: Link. I think the modding-specific stuff is around the 22-minute mark.

Yes, TI has had to slow down while we worked on this, but it's ultimately made us a *lot* smarter about the ins and outs of game development.

I don't know what else to advise. Random crashes don't suggest a problem with the code, which would tend to create reproducible crashes. I would recommend testing your hardware, updating drivers, running virus scans.
