That may very well be it. This is my seventh start, but I never had this few areas contacted when i got to Resistance Radio, so I didn't pay attention to who I had contact with beforehand. Thanks.

Some continent bonuses not shown?
I just researched Resistance Radio on my current 1.4 campaign and noticed South America and Oceania have no continent bonus shown. The whole label, along with the continent name, are simply missing. Is this a bug or a mechanism I'm unaware of?

Unfortunately, Mutons are the pod leaders for the vast majority of the game and with decreased pod size, it's usually feasible to hard control or kill 2 enemies and negate the muton through combatives - especially as you don't even have to spend actions to kill the Muton - it will kill itself over ...

I think a melee counterattack only makes sense if I can bait melee enemies with it with at least some reliability. I only pick it for this utility, and consider it very situational. In my opinion, it's also not that much of a hard counter for Mutons - putting it next to a Muton requires it not being...

Does an incendiary grenade count as an explosive (heavy ordnance) or as a support (rapid deployment) grenade in terms of perks? Same for gas.

it isn't difficult to get at least two people in an area suppression. You don't "get" them anywhere. Nothing in the game lets the player move them where they want*. Maybe your pods scamper differently, but the advent I encounter all stand exactly one tile too far apart**. I got that a lot...

On timed missions I'd rather just kill things with a walk-fire ranger than use a gunner to suppress. Walk fire is a little better in that regard, but you can grazing fire with the gunner. That said, a gunner's HoB is a lot more reliable than a ranger's Walk Fire (but makes you miss out on Shredder)...

Huh. I didn't get very far yet, only about August, but I enjoy my Gunners a lot and I consider them very flexible. It doesn't take a lot to make Suppression effective, I basically just take CUP, slap on that OW-enhancing weapon mod and build the rest for shooting. - No enemy in sight? OW with decent...

Whenacontrolled MEC dies, it creates an empty loot event when you move near. That's what threw you off.
In my case, that empty loot event also hid the loot marker on the ground in case the controlled unit was carrying something.

Maybe a few OWers laid back a bit behind (out of alien sight) the shinobi, in case the enemies don't take the bait? Carries the risk of the aliens running and shooting the OWers instead, of course.
