Re: Enemy AI Shuts Down?

Good to know I'm not the only one. I could not find a way to reactivate. The pod that I burned with my technical never shutdown. Maybe the pod that I hit with a grenade somehow end up in some fire, but me sending soldiers at near point blank range to shoot them didn't have any affect. Hopefully this...

Enemy AI Shuts Down?

Last night I was playing a mission to prevent reinforcements in a region. As I recall the enemy activity was very heavy. The mission started pretty normally. I managed to land a great flamethrower shot against a pod of 6 sectoids, a muton and a trooper, hitting 7 of 8. There were also 2 turrets and ...

Re: Ideas for balancing Oscar Mike > Command in rescue missions

Not sure why some folks are so bent out of shape that certain abilities can make the game easier. I've seen Xavier complaining about this, but he also has a self proclaimed 1,000+ hours testing the game (it might have been hyperbole), and instinctively knows how to avoid a lot of difficult situation...

Low aim is usually going to be an assault for me. Still 100% hit chance against most things at point blank.

Re: Do Master Sergeant Level Units still get stat boosts from going on missions?

I almost forgot, I even have a Walking Dead squad, with a back story the generally makes their inclusion makes sense in the XCOM world. Rick is the Assault, Carl is the Ranger, Sasha is the Sharpshooter, Maggie is the Specialist, Abraham is the Gunner, Glen is the Technical, Michonne is the Shinobi ...

Re: Do Master Sergeant Level Units still get stat boosts from going on missions?

Makes sense as an alternative, though I think it would be cool to also have a bonus that isn't dependent on an officer, to reflect that over time a veteran soldier continues to gain some skill from continued combat operations. Instead of every 4 missions, like it was in LW1, it should be every 6, or...

Do Master Sergeant Level Units still get stat boosts from going on missions?

In Long War 1 a top level soldier would get a stat boost every four or so missions, like a boost to will, aim or less likely, mobility.

Is that still a thing in LW2? Inquiring minds want to know.

Re: Xwynns Long War 2 Campaign on YouTube

Love the vids, but I feel like the run has "jumped the shark" lately. I mean, you went through supposedly the second hardest mission in the game (invasion) without losing anyone, then did a 0% hack the workstation and took 1 minor wound. Of course it's attributable to good play and minimi...

Re: Increase quality more so than quantity on 0%

Logically, why would Advent always send away their more powerful units stationed in an area, just because XCOM has been infiltrating there? If those higher tier units are in the area, than they should potentially show on the mission. It at least makes sense with the current system that with good inf...

Re: Close combat assaults and sword shinobis seem useless

Using your Shinobi to scout out where the enemy pods are before engaging, when possible, is highly recommended. Helps with knowing where not to send your assault, or any other unconcealed soldier for that matter.

Re: Close combat assaults and sword shinobis seem useless

Every class has their use. Assaults are incredibly useful and should not be overlooked. Same goes for Shinobis, particularly for their invaluable recon abilities in preventing unwanted pod activation, but also for hacking hard to reach enemies when stealth is no longer required. If you're not using ...

Re: Bug with Shen's Last Gift and PoI's.

Hmm, I was just perusing wondering why I just destroyed a blacksite in the New Artic, only to realize I have another mission there to do exactly the same thing. It seems I can go on the mission again, but I don't expect to get any Avatar reduction as this region isn't generating any avatar points (t...

Re: Why I stopped LW2 - but thanks for everything

I can understand the OP's point, but thus far I don't feel likewise. The fact that I recently finished a non-LW2 Legend play through, which had plenty of combat, probably helps me in this regard. But even still, I feel like there's plenty of combat in LW2, and I love the realism that often the goal ...

Re: Facility Lead Issue?

That's what I was beginning to understand. Since I could already see that there was a facility, based on my vanilla XCOM 2 experience it never originally occurred to me that the facility lead was actually a requirement to launch the mission. Also, it might be helpful to add a note in the facility le...

Re: Facility Lead Issue?

This is working as intended. Without the lead, you would have never learned about that facility in the first place. They changed that from vanilla. You still need to make contact first, though. Interesting. Though the quirk here is that I already knew about the facility. I could see that it had bee...

Facility Lead Issue?

I just researched a Facility Lead, which clearly indicated that it would provide me the precise location of an Advent Blacksite facility to perform a tactical strike. Yet, after returning to the world map, the alien facility in question is stating that I will need to make contact with the local resi...

Re: Some Quick Impression on the Early Game Thus Far (Early June)

Missions are a lot more exciting, and keep me on the edge of my seat, every time. The fact that it is now viable to run full on stealth missions is SUCH a win! I don't want to poop on your party too soon, but you will eventually realize that missions are either best done with stealth or 10+ men, wi...

Some Quick Impression on the Early Game Thus Far (Early June)

I started my LW2 journey around 6 days ago and have been captivated by my experience thus far. I particularly love the infiltration mechanics; they are just about as close to perfect as I could imagine within the context of the existing game framework. I loved how LW1 made it necessary to have a lar...

Re: Mods for Secondary Weapons?

Hey all, so I keep finding these loot items that appear to be mods for the Gremlin or swords such as "advanced blade flourish" "serrated edge", there was one that seemed to be a hacking protocol that I assume was a tweak for a gremlin. Thing is, I have no idea how to make use of...

That's a pretty elegant approach to scaling up difficulty, versus just adding a few additional enemies on mission per difficulty level increase.

Re: What is the difference between Enemy Activity and Enemy Readiness?

Adding to this, the other thing readiness affects is evac time, so in my above example I suppose that you might want to get from normal to vulnerable for less evac time, but I guess that would be the only benefit. Evac time is listed explicitly on the screen anyways, so why would you need to know r...
