Beginning continent (always South Africa?)

Does the game always start in South Africa?

For me it is that way.

My game started in South Africa, and so did Xwynns. So I'm thinking it might be that way. Kind of makes sense, it's a fairly solid starting area.

No its not always, but South Africa is one of the most recurring ones. I restarted a lot of campaigns in my search to get a United States starting point. I think I've gotten a starting point in every zone except maybe in the Oceania.

I've gotten America, Asia and Europe. Never yet Oceania either.

I started in North America, the Eastern US, to be specific. I was actually sort of hoping for South Africa for whatever reason. I now have a Haven in New Mexico as well, and am not quite one month into my campaign.
