I had a couple more questions.
1. How is overwatch Aim calculated. When looking at the aim numbers after shots, it looks like there is usually no aim penalty, but some units when getting shot are less than full aim. Like some might be 70 but others say 50. Maybe dodge effects overwatch dunno?
2. There is a Specilist trait that makes hacking have no downside. Does this also effect all effects that use the hack screen, Haywire protocal and skulljack. Or does it only effect the actual hack ability when your hacking communication towers.
3. Is LW 2 designed to have Shens last gift installed so you get sparks. I didn't buy any DLC yet, because so far it all looked pretty meh. But If LW is meant to have a specific one I figure I'll get it.
Overwatch, Hacking and Game intention Question
Re: Overwatch, Hacking and Game intention Question
If the target is doing a double move (aka dash) they get a defense bonus. Also, Scopes only apply to regular shots, not overwatch shots.oesis wrote:I had a couple more questions.

As for dodge, I think they tweaked how it works in LW2- someone who's more familiar with the system than I can probably help here.

I believe it applies to all hacks, but I have yet to actual fail a hack on any of my hackers with Failsafe so I couldn't say for sure.oesis wrote:2. AFAIK Shen's Last Gift is not required, but if you have it then SPARKs are upgraded from their vanilla incarnation and are getting buffs in future patches.oesis wrote:3. Playing through the story of Shen's Last Gift is entirely optional- you're prompted at the start of a campaign whether you want to do it or not. If not, you gain access to SPARKs via some autopsy research and a proving grounds project. Otherwise, you get your first SPARK upon completing the story POI (which spawns on a timer-- it won't pop up so early as to make the game too easy) and can build more later.
Re: Overwatch, Hacking and Game intention Question
For Q2, the specialist skill makes it so you never have a downside, I've tried it with skulljack and haywire both and they don't apply any negative effects if you fail.
Hell I think I might've failed to hack a drone while concealed and still didn't even get revealed. Not so sure of that last one though but anyway from what I have played so far it indeed applies to all of the possible "hacking screens".

Re: Overwatch, Hacking and Game intention Question
Overwatch/reaction shots have a multiplicative 70% modifier. So if you have 100 aim, then your overwatch shot is 70%. If you have 50 aim, your overwatch shot is 35. In other words the effect is relative to what your aim is, it's not a flat percentage for everyone.1. How is overwatch Aim calculated. Furthermore, if you are taking an overwatch on a dashing unit (double, or yellow move type thing like someone who is retreating you or melee dashing you), the modifier is 60% (it is harder to hit dashing units with overwatch).
