Regarding the Trap Missions

I remember JL saying there is a concept called "Trap Mission" where it shows the mission is relatively easy, but the reinforcements drop like pretty much every turn consecutively, and this occurs in regions with high advent strength.

Is there a limit to "which type of missions" this trap mission can apply to, or is it available for pretty much all missions in general? If it's the latter, while it does fit the thematic sense, the gameplay seems quite tricky. In LW1, the so-called "Trap missions" Were only applicable to "Landed UFO" missions, so one could semi-expect what to expect. Any chance the devs could elaborate on this idea of "trap mission"?

From what I understand, Trap Missions don't start until Advent Strength 7. That's all I've heard (from Xwynn in the comment section, and he wasn't sure about the exact number), but a bit of information might help you out.
