Why were tier 2 and tier 3 psi amps researched pushed down so much further down in the tech tree? You can get advanced psi amps at the same time as elite arc throwers. The other tier 3 secondaries also because more readily available around that time, while the alien psi amp was pushed down to the final enemy research. This makes it difficult for the psi ops to compete in damage with the other classes as their tech is so much later even though the psi amps themselves are quite expensive. Even their tier 2 psi amps require a core each.
