Starting a new game with the Shen dlc mission disabled causes the game to freeze after the opening cinematic

version 1.0. Mods are capnbubs accessories, military camouflage, evac all, show health values, and stop wasting my time.

I have all the dlc enabled through steam. If i try to start a new game with the Shen mission turned off (through the long war 2 interface), the game freezes right before the first loading screen (after the opening cinematic). I just get a black screen with no audio, and the only option is to hit alt-f4. This is reproducible 100% of the time for me.

The game works fine with the same mods enabled if I start a new game with the Shen mission turned on, or if i disable the Shen dlc through steam before starting the game.
