Possible Ultraviolet Combat display bug

This is my current dreadnaught design that I am using:

I am rolling around in a fleet of 10 of those. When I engage alien fleets, I see what I presume to be the 720 cm UV Nose cannon fire in a purple laser, doing damage but not tons. The aliens tend to blow up 1 or two of my ships before the fleets get in close quarters....then all the Alien ships just start exploding and I dont see any graphics of my ships firing at them during this time.

I presume its 360 cm UV batteries instakilling them but not creating a graphic.

Ironically, since UV wouldn't be in the visible spectrum, its possible that its a design choice, and the purple laser I am seeing is actually just the aliens firing at me. If this is the case, I would advocate for divesting slightly from realism and giving UV lasers a graphic - cause seeing space battles with ships firing on each other is cool to watch.
