If I have orbital shipyards, why do I still need boost to build ships please, and is there a module that stops this requirement?

You need to also have mines in space.
So if, for example, you want to build something but don't have enough noble metals stockpiled, then you need to boost the noble metals require up into space from earth. This can be very expensive if you need to boost large amounts of water into space.

Got the mines.
I'll go back to the Shipyards screen & check available resources before I go further, as this may indeed be the problem - resource shortage.
